Mr. Gustavo and Mr. Gilson, your friendly managers

Gustavo comes from an hotelier’s family. He was born and raised in Belo Horizonte. He started working in hotels when he was young, as lift operator in Hotel São domingos. In 1981, he became partner-owner of the Hotel Lux where he worked until 1990. During his time at the Hotel Lux, he joined a rock'n roll band called Kami-Kaze as bass-man, and opened the first rock-studio in the town: the JG Studio. There, important bands of international and national music such as Sepultura, Skank and Jota Quest have played. He returned to work with hotels in 1997 in the Hotel Gontijo, where he is today.

Gilson is from Recife, Pernambuco and came to Belo Horizonte in 1988. Here he fell in love with a ‘mineira’ woman and married her. After that, he decided to live in the city. Since he was a child, he followed in his fathers footsteps working in the hotel industry. Gilson began to work as an office-boy in a hotel in Recife, when he was still a young guy. For those who like to be among different people and hear lots of interesting histories, working in a hotel is the perfect choice. Gilson says there are many curious facts he had shared with guests, and with all these memories he could even write a book!
