Hotel Vitória
Mr. Geraldo Augusto
Mr. Geraldo came to Belo Horizonte in the 50's, when he was still a young man, from a city in the countryside of the state, about of 400km from the capital. At that time, his older brother was owner of a hotel and there he begun working as a lift operator.
He began then learning about the hospitality industry. But he had to leave the hotel to serve in the national army. After that, he left Belo Horizonte to go to the state of the Espírito Santo and there began to work in the Hotel Costa Azul, which he purchased. He stayed there for 5 years.
However, his passion for Belo Horizonte called him back, and he started working with his first hotel, the Hotel de Minas, of which he is still the owner. Mr. Geraldo remembers he started to work at the Hotel on an atypical day, the same day as Pope John Paul II had visited Belo Horizonte, in 1980.
Some years later he has also started working with the Hotel Vitória. Mr. Geraldo likes to work with hotels.
He takes a walk on the edges of the famous Pampulha´s Lagoon every morning, and says he loves Belo Horizonte's landscapes, its bars, good restaurants and also the Mercado Central.
