With competitive character, since its third edition, the 10th Belo Horizonte International Short Film Festival  provides the award for the best short film of the season 2007/2008, acknowledging the talent of the contemporaneous producers and motivating new productions. The festival is considered a showcase for new filmmakers from all over Brazil and the World. Besides the variety of themes and formats, there is also a variety of directors from different places, making a cultural mosaic festival, one of the most globalised of the world.
